Mont Ventoux in the Provence region of Southern France is a revered climb, which can be taken 3 ways all at least 21km long! Once out of the forest you hit the lunar landscape as you wind towards the weather station. A few kms from the top is the memorial to Tom Simpson who died on Ventoux during a stage of the Tour de France. This painting reminds me of the epic challenge of riding the great mountains.
Acrylic of canvas, with sides painted to emulate the weather station and the rider is fashioned from chains.
Deep box canvas dimensions: 46cm x 61cm x 3.5cm

Bikes and cycling have always been a huge part of Stuart’s life, whether to get around East Yorkshire when growing up, or the daily commute in and around London and the occasional cycling adventure. He re-found art after 25 years selling soap. His work is inspired by experiences on and around bikes and can be a traditional acrylic painting, or a more unusual bike collage using recycled parts.
